Recital 55
(55) Consumers should be protected against unfair and misleading practices in accordance with Unfair Commercial Practices Directive of the European Parliament and the Council ( 17 ) as well as with E-Commerce Directive ( 18 ) , 2002/65/EC ( 19 ) , 2008/48/EC, 2011/83/EU ( 20 ) and 2014/92/EU ( 21 ) of the European Parliament and the Council. The provisions of those Directives continue to apply. However, the relationship between the pre-contractual information requirements laid down in this Directive and Distance Marketing of Financial Services Directive should, in particular, be clarified.
